03. Train the facilitator
Type: LLP-ERASMUS
Category: LLP Key Activity 2 - Languages
Parent: SLTOOL-SMART LANGUAGES (NEEDS ORIENTED) TOOLBOX FOR EUROPEANS
Period: 6 Jun 2011
The objective of this WP is to train the trainers/facilitators that will facilitate the simultaneous meetings. The prerequisites for these facilitators are the following:
1. Good knowledge of the English language which will be used as the common language through the project
2. Certified ability to teach their native language.
The main objectives of the train the trainers/facilitators workshop are the following:
1. To establish a common methodology in running the meetings. It should be clear to all the facilitators that the long term objective is to develop the SLTOOL that can be used directly by the learners without the need of the trainers. The main reason for their existence during the meeting is the facilitation of the meeting and the assessment of the conversations as an indirect means of evaluating the tool. Of course another main objective is to ensure that during the meetings the participants actually use the tool.
2. To be able to use the web based e-learning themselves so as to coach the learners to use it correctly & to be able to identify any problems in its functionality
During this WP the content of the train-the-facilitator will be designed. The design will include:
1. Issues on facilitation
2. Understanding SLTOOL philosophy
2. Expert use of the e-learning platform
3. Understanding of the methodological tools used in the e-learning platform.
4. Review of the content for all target groups
5. Other issues such as the methodology used to inform the coordinator on issues occurring during the use of the web based e-learning tool.
The facilitator workshop will be implemented in Greece and will have a duration of 2 days. One facilitator per country should attend the workshop. However, the fact that meetings run simultaneously makes the need for a second facilitator a necessity. In case that the second trainer will not attend the meeting it will be the responsibility of the first trainer to train him/her.
