Res1 :Research among youthworkers and teachers about areas for personal and professional development

Type: LLP-ERASMUS
Parent: Opp4Youth:Development opportunities for youth workers by implementing the innovative methods for learning

Period:
30 Mar 2022

The initial preparatory desk research carried out by the Partners defining the deficits and development needs of young people and those working with them served as the basis for writing this proposal.

They partly coincide with studies published on EURES Job Mobility Portal (2020) and defined the 6 most necessary skills to achieve success in a post-COVID-19 world:

1) Leadership – Until more offices allowing to work from home, good leadership skills are becoming essential. Teams are becoming more fluent, requiring initiative and proactivity from everyone involved.

2) Emotional intelligence - It has several components – awareness, perception and regulation, but essentially, it’s about leading through empathy, influence and collaboration. The post-COVID-19 world can be full of uncertainty and challenges

3) Adaptability - isn’t just about embracing changes in your work duties in the lockdown– it’s also about constantly learning new skills and updating old ones to stay relevant in the job market.

4) Creativity and innovation - Institutions set up by young people that have been able to come up with ways to deliver services online or quickly shift their production have served as role models to many. In a post-coronavirus world, human creativity will be essential.

5) Data literacy - Youth who understand world trends are better suited to respond to unexpected situations. But to do this, they need to be professionals with data literacy, who can interpret the information and suggest solutions based on it.

6) Critical thinking - With fake news and disinformation flooding the internet media literacy and the ability to objectively evaluate information from different sources will be in high demand.

Research will be carried out by each Partner in one specific of abovementioned area (chosen skill) among youth workers in order to specify 4 more skills and need for adjusting it to the reality of youth professional and personal development.
