Type: LLP-ERASMUS
Parent: INMATOUR

Period:
1 Oct 2014 - 29 Feb 2016

Definition and creation of the knowledge, skills and competence profile aimed at managing innovation in tourism European destinations. The profile is a document which defines comprehensively the skills and knowledge required for professional performance linked to the development of innovation in tourism, both from a sectoral point of view (companies and stakeholders) such as territorial (inclusion of a management model of innovation in territorial development at different scales, environmental issues´ adaptation of local management policies(, etc.).

The areas of knowledge and professional development linked to the profile are oriented to the main processes and key aspects that have sourced as “generators of innovation in tourism destinations”. These are varied and diffuse: Development and fostering creativity and talent to create value added, enhancement of a global approach to social responsibility in the territory, sustainability of tourism practices, use of tools and strategies based on ICTs to design, produce and promote tourism products). This profile will try to compile them into a 5-area training approach in order to create a tangible product from which develop a tailored-made training solution.  Much of these priorities are in line with  the working groups of the Standardization European Committee of  management of innovation, as a solution to face to the future development of a comprehensive development system of innovation at the European level: management of creativity and collaboration, innovative thinking and design of products (WG 4), intellectual property management (WG 5)Management of strategic intelligence (WG 6).

Finally, the profile will be adapted to the standards of the ERF, in order to promote the transparency and comparability of the level of skills, knowledge, and skills of the Manager in all European countries.  In the framework of this product, and to achieve one profile that suits in real way both to the needs of students and of the tourism sector, the partnership will held a preparatory study of analysis (desktop research) that will take into account the level of adequacy of training in each country with regard to these competences in the different national framework of vocational training and the degree of presence- level of acquisition and exploitation in partnership countries.
